Trinity Catholic College offers French and Italian language courses. Other languages can be studied at Saturday school and may count towards a student’s HSC and ATAR in Year 12.

The Saturday School runs for two hours each Saturday morning during school terms. They offer the range of courses listed below for students who wish to learn their family’s background language.

Language schools are run in a number of convenient locations, primarily at local NSW Public Schools. Enrolments are open in November for the following year and close in mid-December. Please enquire at the College Office in Auburn or Regents Park in early November for an application form.

Open High School

Students can choose to study any of the languages listed below with the Open High School via their Distance Education module. The Open High School sends the work to Trinity and the student picks it up and completes it. The student then returns the work to Trinity by the due date and the school sends the work back to the Open High School. The teachers there mark the work, where they write helpful comments and suggestions and then send the work back to Trinity. The student picks up their marked work and goes through it noting the comments for further learning and revision.

The teachers are available to assist students on most days via email or via the phone. Usually, the student visits their teacher once a term for additional help. The teacher is often situated at Homebush or Randwick. There is a cost associated with these courses.

Students should see The Leader of Learning and Curriculum for further information or for an enrolment form.
